Accounting Associate – Corporate Office

Responsible for handling the fundamental aspects of financial recordkeeping for a real estate asset management and development company. This position is part of the accounting department reporting to the Senior Associate/Manager with focus on construction and development accounting.

Responsibilities/Essential Job Duties

Set Up

Set up, maintain accounting files and records relating to construction projects and/or on-going managed and owned properties.


Prepare funding/distribution requests to investors and lenders. Prepare Variance Analysis and Cash Flow Analysis. Prepare monthly financial reports for partners and owners. Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested by clients and partners.


Assist with budget forecasts. Assist outside auditors and accountants with year-ˇend reporting to investors and regulatory agencies. Other related duties as assigned.


Support the preparation of all financial statements and reports for designated properties and projects.


Receive related invoices and team with property personnel to pay vendors and record appropriate assets and liabilities.


Reconcile bank accounts.


  • Excellent communication skills via email, phone and in person
  • Requires exercise of independent judgment related to business operations
  • Yardi experience preferred/other construction-­related accounting program experience desired
  • Experience with vendor insurances and lien wavers
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Pro
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Education and/or Experience

  • 0 to 2 years’ full cycle general ledger or construction/development accounting experience preferred
  • College degree required in accounting
